Kid's Nature Magazines - Issue 29 - Tibet, Roof of the World

This month, the Eco Kids are on the TOP of the world – the Tibetan plateau!

Up in the dizzying heights, where oxygen is scarce and punishing cold is matched by intense, burning sun, they meet the Himalayan jumping spider (the highest living animal in the world!), the legendary snow leopard, the beastly looking (yet awfully helpful) wild yak and the incredibly rare blue bear. Just how did they learn to survive at such heights?

The plateau's glaciers give birth to seven magnificent Asian rivers that support nearly a THIRD of the world's population. Our young readers will learn how the world is getting warmer, threatening to make these glaciers disappear.

In celebration of World Giant Panda Day, the children can also make their own paper giant panda craft.
