Use inspiration from nature to make these colourful button bugs. They are so easy to make, you will soon have a whole swarm.
Step 1: Cut a pipe cleaner into three equal lengths. These will be your bug’s legs. Twist two of the pieces together to make a cross shape.
Step 2: Take your button and thread the third piece of pipe cleaner through the holes.
Step 3: Turn your button upside down on the table and place the pipe-cleaner cross on to it. Twist the third pipe cleaner around the cross to fix it in place.
Step 4: Turn your bug over and bend its legs into position.
Step 5: If you would like to add antennae, twist another length of pipe cleaner around the legs of the bug underneath and bend into position.
Step 6: Glue on some googly eyes and thread beads on for feet and antennae.
